New type of logger

Failoggerkl.gif
We will be using the new FAI Logger. The logger is especially developed by the FAI/CIA for use in balloon competitions.
This logger will also be used at the European Championships this year in Barcelona and therefore its use is considered beneficial to competitors.

Competitors unfamiliar with the logger are strongly advised to study the training program developed for this logger link:
FAI logger training program

Further information can also be found:
Balloon Competition Loggers

You must be familiar with the basic operation like switching the logger ON and OFF. During the event you will be required to drop markers and declare goals with the logger.

Map

The map is based on the version of the competition map we used for our Nationals in 2005.

NK2011kaartje.gif Jan Fokken has prepared the map and all relevant data is printed on the map.
Competitors will get a printed version of the map.

Rules

The Rules for this event are based on the FAI/CIA AXMER Version 2011. This version combines the old AXMERs (for events with observers) and the AXMERG (for events with loggers). This event will use both observers and loggers. Unless otherwise stated in the TDS markers will be measured only up to 100m from the Goal or Target. Beyond that distance and for some other type of task e.g. 3DT, logger scoring will be used.

There are several issues that need further study and are depending on having seen the final printout. Therefore a valid PZ list and criteria to select a goal etc. cannot be given ar this moment but will be announced at the General Briefing.

The Rules can be downloaded here: Rules Dutch Balloon Trophy 2011 (520Kb).
